Radar imaging & signal processing

Radar Imaging

From raw echoes.
To visible structure.

Imaging software that turns millimetre-wave radar captures into focused images and 3D data volumes. A complete imaging workflow connects reconstruction, automatic focus selection and traceable outputs.

The challenge

Make the measurement
meaningful.

Radar captures contain echoes collected across a scan. Recovering a useful image means accounting for scan order, missing frames and focus depth, then turning the measurements into a view that can be inspected.

The software connects capture processing, image reconstruction and visual analysis, with a record of how each output was produced.

The imaging workflow

From capture
to a result you can inspect.

Signal processing, visualization and evidence,
connected from end to end.

  1. 1

    Read the capture

Parse the recorded radar frames, preserve receiver channels and account for scan motion and missing measurements.

  2. 2

    Reconstruct and focus

Reconstruct the scene across depth slices. Automatic focus selection chooses a depth from a recorded set of candidates.

  3. 3

    Make the result visible

Export numeric volumes, scientific images, presentation views and range-slice maps. Display settings remain separate from the reconstructed data.

  4. 4

    Keep the result traceable

Record source and output fingerprints, processing settings and frame completeness so a result can be traced to its inputs.

A complete
processing workflow.

The imaging workflow processed ten radar captures into 3D data volumes, visual outputs and traceable processing records.

The implementation combines a publisher-reference comparison path, autofocus, receiver-image registration and batch processing. The images shown here are calculated from radar measurements.
